St Clement Church, Truro.
At the recent annual meeting, Helen, Project Manager for the Church Renovations, gave a full report on the progress made on the restoration work that has taken place and also the plans for the future improvements to the beautiful old Church.
Work commenced in the early spring, with Scott and Company, our Surveyors overseeing the project. The Heritage Representative has made regular visits to monitor progress and completion of the project is expected in the near future.
When the restoration has been completed, it is planned to have a new path laid from the Lynch Gate down to the church door and continuing to the bottom gate. The path will be laid by a firm called Oltco and will comprise a permeable resin which is designed to absorb water and so reduce the risk of flooding when there is heavy rain. It is also designed to lessen the risk of any falls or accidents. Permission has been asked to install a handrail alongside the new path making a much easier and safer access to the Church.
Excitement is building as the Church will soon be open again for services and we are all looking forward to once again being able to welcome people to join us in supportive fellowship.
