St Clement Church, Truro. On the 21st November, a small group gathered at St Andrews Hall, Malpas for “Cafe Church”, which includes an informal communion service as well as refreshments and lively discussion. On Saturday the 25th, St Clement held its annual Gift Day and the Church is very thankful to have received donations from the many generous folk who help to support the work and upkeep of this beautiful ancient building. On Sunday we held our Patronal Service combined with that of Christ the King celebrations and we were delighted to welcome Father Harold who read the Gospel. Father Harold is a dearly loved priest and member of our Church family who, for many years, worked tirelessly in this parish before his retirement. Diane gave a “potted history” of the life of our patronal saint and told of how St. Clement saw the face of Jesus in all he met. After the service members enjoyed a sumptuous lunch provided by our talented cooks. Please note that in December we will hold our traditional Carol Service on Sunday 17th at 6.00pm followed by mulled wine and mince pies. A collection will be held in aid of “Emmaus Cornwall”, a local charity which works towards helping and enabling the homeless. There will be a Midnight Mass on Sunday 24th December at 11:30pm, with festive refreshments after the service and on on Christmas Day itself, there will be a morning service at 10:00am. A warm welcome awaits all who join us in these future celebrations.
