Corona Virus poetry
Lock-down by Margaret Parrinder
Mostly alone, yes. But listening, watching, discovering. Opposite there are such beautiful trees And many birds now nest in these Looking downhill cars go by Drivers cannot see this sky But walkers carrying their Shopping and sometimes wearily stopping Catch sight of magpies, crows Bluebells, azalea and if very early Little wrens, robins and sparrows. Now is the time to think and rediscover Either new possibilities knitting, sewing Reading, translating, simply Changing old habits for new ways But out of it all, I want to Walk, with both sticks if necessary Along the shore, in the sand Yet not alone. |
